plant community Arctic coastal tundranotes Range: N Amer–Greenland. Grows in arctic-alpine zones on dry, rocky and gravelly sites. ID: Height 2–6 in (6–15 cm). Leaves: Crowded in flat cushions, rigid, leathery, cuneate to spatulate, with 3 prickly, tooth-like lobes at leaf apex; green in summer, often red in winter or when growing on eroded granite. Flowers: Creamy white petals dotted with orange, borne in a corymb, nodding in youth.keywords: saxifrage
