notes The Second Edition of the Jepson Manual (TJM2) describes this now hybrid species as an “Uncommon and confusing sp. of hybrid origin, the CA populations involving Agoseris aurantiaca × Agoseris grandiflora and/or Agoseris monticola.” This recurring population, however, still keys out to Agoseris ×elata using the key in TJM2: “Involucre ± glandular-hairy; petiole generally not purple”, as well as the description, e.g. “phyllaries generally rosy-purple except margin”.camera Nikon Coolix 5400
