notes Two populations found roadside along Santa Rosa Creek Road. Western population (approx 10 plants) in fruit at time of photo, eastern population (approx 150 plants) was in late flower. Note from Keir Morse 2020-02-15: Varieties of M. palmeri were given the rank of species as M. palmeri, M. lucianus, and M. involucratus in 2021. A key to these species can be found in Morse, K. 2021.
