notes Habit of Streptanthus breweri, growing in its typical habitat of rocky serpentine substrate. If you look closely you can see a well-camoflaged early instar caterpillar on the second flower from the top (on the left). More detailed images of this caterpillar appear here. Note the top of the inflorescence has been broken off...perhaps from herbivory by caterpillars. photo category: Plant - annual/perennial
