notes These tiny, gasteroid fruiting bodies growing on the underside of a decaying oak log are only about 2mm wide. DNA sequencing at UC Davis shows they belong to the genus Thaxterogaster but did not match a specific species in GenBank.camera Canon 40D, MP-E 65mm, f/11, 1/16 sec.
