| Reviewer's comments: | | | "The dragonfly is a "Common Whitetail" (Plathemis lydia). The wing markings and lack of white-powdery pruinescence on the abdomen indicate an immature male. [The field guide "Dragonflies and Damselflies of California" by Tim Manolis allows for fairly straigtforward identification of most California Odonata. It's compact, well-written, and well-illustrated...I recommended it highly.]" |
