not providednotes Mt Whitney is 182 miles (293 km) away. It is halfway between the right edge of the picture and the sun. The picture is from a slide, taken with a cheap, hand-held box camera. No longer is it easy to take a picture of Mt Whitney from the edge of the Pacific, quite as you cannot readily take pictures of green or turquoise flashes. It is easy to take pictures of the top of tule fog drowning the San Joaquin Valley.keywords: Mt Whitney, tule fog, Cone Peak
