location
Zadnjica valley, lower Stružnik place, East Julian Alps (Posoèje, Slovenia)notes Slo.: mesnata želatinka - Habitat: Light mixed wood, partly cut down, almost solely Picea abies and Fagus sylvatica, calcareous ground, in half shade, mostly exposed to direct rain, average precipitations ~3.000 mm/year, average temperature 6-8 deg C, elevation 820 m (2.700 feet), alpine phytogeographical region. - Substratum: An only slightly rotten stump of a cut down Fagus sylvatica. - Comments: Photographed in a half dry state. Two dry-air and windy days before I took these pictures these specimens were still moist, much more swollen and almost purely light violet color - an astonishing different color to these pictures.
