Bracken fern (Pteridium aquilinum is growing among it. In the background are the yellow flowers of California poppy (Eschscholzia californica), and the gray mounds of beach sagewort (Artemisia pycnocephala). Asilomar State Beach is on the Monterey Peninsula adjacent to Pacific Grove.camera 35 mm., Yashica Electro 35.
