| Reviewer's comments: | | | "The head shape and persistent, spreading paleae in fruit are unmistakable for Filago subgenus Oglifa, and the only species matching this habit and leaf shape is F. californica. The plant is depauperate, though, and there is a slight chance this could instead be Filago arizonica. " |

| Reviewer's comments: | | | "This plant is definitely not a Stylocline! The ovoid heads with shortly cylindric apices, and the enlarged and stellate inner series of palea definitely place this plant in Filago subgenus Oglifa, where they clearly match F. californica. " |
