| Reviewer's comments: | | | "This looks like Lastarriaea coriacea (Polygonaceae). In particular, note the hooked spines characteristic of the involucral bracts of L. coriacea, and the conspicuously long red-stemmed internodes, which are quite distinct from the dense green aspect of the plants in two of your other photos posted on CalPhotos as Loeflingia. If this was shot at Pinnacles NM (i.e. wasn't just a posting error), then this would provide a new entry for the plant list currently available on the Pinnacles NM web site." |
