| Reviewer's comments: | | | "This is a juvenile Red-shoudered Hawk, California race (subspp. elegans) told by having crossbars as well as streaks (vertical markings) on the breast. The head is large and thick-beaked. The clincher is the white and dark brown patches on the folded secondaries just visible on the bird's left flanks." |
