notes Detail of flowers and leaves. Note that the flowers of Ivesia are typically 5-merous (e.g. 5 sepals, 5 petals), like the lower one in this photo. However, the upper flowers here are anomalous: 7-merous on the right, and seven sepals + six petals on the left. (Don't try to key this plant with those flowers! :-)
The cylindrical mousetail-like leaves are compound, consisting of ~50-80 densely-packed small, lobed, overlapping, hairy, leaflets.camera Shot on a Canon Digital Rebel XT at f10, 1/200, ISO 100 with a Canon 50mm Compact macro lens.
