| Reviewer's comments: | | | "I believe the correct spelling for the species name is "ater" , no letter f. It is an introduced variety from Europe to North America; common in northern California; comes in brown and black forms. I have seen it at Eureka where this photo is from, at Crescent City, in DelNorte County , CA and commonly in the Puget Sound Region, WA (personal observations)." |
