habitat Shallow end of a cattail marsh, created by beavers. Nearby is a decidous woodland running up a hillsidenotes There are two couples in amplexus, the frog sexual embrace for egg laying. Females are rusty colored and males are dark brown. One additional male is at the top of the photo looking on.
