notes Flower detail. Yes, this really is a Layia! It has phyllaries completely clasping the ray fruits, a single series of chaff scales, nicely lobed ligules, and is dotted w/ black spherical glands. And, it's succulent and growing in pure sand! It's also a federally endangered plant (CNPS List 1B).camera Shot on a Canon Digital Rebel XT at f18, 1/125, ISO 100 with a Canon 100mm macro lens.
