plant community Douglas fir/shore pinenotes This lovely lily inhabits a variety of forest, streamside and prairie habitats in the Puget Sound. Vegetal components vary dependent on habitat type. Soil is usually rocky/sandy which preserves the corms from hungry voles that prefer to roam in loose soil. Note the greenish/yellow/pink coloration on the outside of the tepals' bases as a clue to the color intensity inside the flower.camera Kodak ES Z60
