  • notes   Previously known as Megatebennus bimaculatus. In this view the limpet is on the move. The shell is actually twice the diameter of the visible portion. When threatened by a sea star, the limpet can extend its mantle over the exterior of the shell, creating a smooth, slippery surface, impossible for the star to grasp.
