notes This spectacular larva feeds on Cynoglossum grande (?), Houndstongue, one of the earlier-blooming species here on the west slope of the Sierra. It pulls a Houndstongue leaf into a curl around itself, and anchors it with silken threads, to pupate. Note the bright red head.camera Nikon 5300
