  • plant's place of origin   La Purisima Mission State Historic Park, in oak woods along east fendeline a few hundred meters south of La Artemisia Trail. (Santa Barbara County, California, US)

  • notes   I counted about 20 plants along the fenceline trail (Santa Rita Mesa Trail), most growing under bushes in coast live oak woods. In 2006 I also saw 2 or 3, but did not search for them carefully.
