| Reviewer's comments: | | | "This juvenile Red-tailed Hawk has the light and dark brown tailbands common to this species and never seen on Golden Eagles. Dorsal perched hawks are never terribly easy to diagnose, but one great Golden clue would be the shiny golden nape (rear-neck) feathers on all Goldens at all ages. Also Goldens are really a rich chocolate brown color, a tone lacking in this Redtail." |
