notes Habit and habitat of Hulsea algida. It seems to only grow in rocky, gravelly locales on or near very high ridges and peaks. Seen in the distance is Pioneer Basin, and behind it (from left to right) Mt. Hopkins (in shade of a cloud, elev. 12304'), Red and White Mountain (with large snow patches near its summit, elev. 12816'), an unnamed peak (elev. 12404'), and Mt Crocker (elev. 12454').camera Shot a f16, 1/250, ISO 200 on a Canon Digital Rebel XT with a Canon 50mm Compact macro lens.
