plant community Desert Scrub, in rocky canyon.notes Oblique view of the lone flower on a rather senescent Carlowrightia plant. The morphology of the flower is reminiscent of a pea flower, with parts analogous to 'banner', 'wings', and 'keel'. This was photographed at 11:20am. I had seen the flower in bud at 8am that morning. (Thanks to Mel for directing me to this plant.)camera Shot at f5.6, 1/400 on a Canon D60 with a Canon 50mm macro lens.
