  • habitat  Shallow waters along rocky coasts living attached to stones and seaweeds, to 1-5 m depths.
  • notes   Anemonia sulcata (Pennant,1777). The only known anemone species found in the Mediterranean Sea.Its tentacles sting caustically. Very common, in some places it could be massive, although the purple colour is not seen very often in this area
