Brasília region, Cerrado of central Brazil (Brazil)habitat Cerradonotes Recent samplings in the Cerrado are revealing many undescribed or poorly known elapomorphine snakes. Apostolepis flavotorquata (Serpentes: Colubridae: Elapomorphini)is endemic to the Brazilian Cerrado. Very little is known on the natural history of this fossorial, secretive and poorly sampled snake genus, with high levels of endemism and richness in central Brazil. This specimen was collected in the Brasília region, and is housed in the herpetological collection of Universidade de Brasília (# CHUNB 23780).photo category: Animal - Reptile
