| Reviewer's comments: | | | "Either Mantella madagascariensis or Mantella baroni which are difficult to impossible to tell apart from dorasal markings alone. Animal also shows a lack of the "horse shoe" marking typically seen on top the the head running from eye to nose to eye in both species." |

| Reviewer's comments: | | | "The photograph you have commented is regarding a real hybrid between Mantella cowani and Mantella baroni. it has been photographed at Fahrimazava, on the Madagascar's high plateau, where a hybrid zone has been identified. There were many putative hybrids, and some ones had the colors of the parental species, or little bit different. The one you commented was quite similar to M. baroni, although lacking some typical features as stated by you. Anyhow, the only Mantella species there were cowani and baroni. No M. madagascariensis so far." |
