habitat Oak Woodlandnotes Small body and head with no obvious neck, limbs short, feet small with spaced digits, long tail, majority examined possess little evidence of dorsal stripe (few others showed brown dorsal striped defused with streaks of pigment); venter dark and richly sprinkled with white. Located beneath logs, oak limbs, bark, and other woodland objects, especially in areas with much leaf-litter. In this region, B. nigriventris coexists with the similar B. incongnatus, thus examination was necessary to distinguish individuals. However, due to lack of conclusive characteristics all slender salamanders found are believed to be of common variety, B. nigriventris.photo category: Animal - Amphibian
