| Reviewer's comments: | | | "The ringneck snake is aptly named, and the snake in this photo lacks this distinctive characteristic. This clearly is a crayfish snake, specifically the queen snake (Regina septemvittata), because of the uniformly dark dorsum, smallish head, and the yellow strip along the lower side of the body (only hinted to by this photo, but it's there). The only species of Regina found where this photo was taken (Ohio) is the queen snake. " |
