Linanthus breviculus (Mojave Linanthus) | The epithet breviculus is very uncommon. I think it is very likely that the name was meant to be Linanthus breviculus, not Gilia. |

Gilia sp. | According to standard regional references (Jepson, Munz, Abrams, and more) Linathus breviculus flowers are both sessile and salverform, unlike those in this photo. Thus this is definitely not L. breviculus and is probably best left as Gilia sp. until someone familiar with the California taxa can better place it using specific identification characters. |
