04/29/2007	This is definitely C. peirsonii, incorrectly reduced to synonymy under C. parviflora in the Jepson. It is definitely NOT C. nana, which is a much shorter, more compact plant, never with yellow bracts. I have listed it as "Castilleja species", since I do not wish to perpetuate the myth that C. peirsonii is a synonym of C. parviflora.
