Pseudotriton ruber (Blue Ridge Red Salamander, Northern Red Salamander, Blackchin Red Salamander, Southern Red Salamander) | While the larvae can be easily confused, this animal is definitely Pseudotriton. Gyrinophilus have much longer, more truncate snouts and much smaller eyes relative to their head size. |
