Pseudotriton ruber (Blue Ridge Red Salamander, Northern Red Salamander, Blackchin Red Salamander, Southern Red Salamander) | Though they can be easily confused, the animal pictured is Pseudotriton, not Gyrinophilus. Gyrinophilus larvae have longer, more truncated snouts and smaller eyes relative to their head size. |
