11/18/2001 Lee Dittmann  taxon changed Amelanchier sp. (serviceberry) Chamaebatiaria millefolium (Desertsweet, Fern Bush, Fernbush)
The deeply divided, fern-like leaves and dense racemes mark this species as Fern Bush or Desert Sweet, a species quite common on both North and South rims of the Grand Canyon. Amelanchier has entire leaves.
