Images of noxious weeds from two different collections within the California Department of Food and
Agriculture have been scanned by the CalFlora Database and added to the
CalPhotos collection. 782 slides came from the CDFA Botany Laboratory
slide collection, managed by Dean Kelch. 442 images came from CDFA
Integrated Pest Control (IPC), managed by Dean Kelch. Slides from
over 40 different
photographers were selected from these collections.
Images were chosen to best represent the
taxa available in these collections, showing plant habit, parts, and
diagnostic characters when possible. A number of slides also
illustrate experimental control plots, side-by-side comparisons, or
maps of distribution at particular points in time. Some images (e.g. all IPC images) exist only in the low resolution versions available online. Questions about these slides should be directed to Dean Kelch. Click here for contact
information.
