The GISlite / TileZoom Viewer is a java applet for displaying and
manipulating vector graphics data such as points and poly-lines,
and raster data such as maps and images.
It allows for multiple sets of multi-resolution data
with scale dependent features to be displayed together, layered one on
top of the other. The viewer provides smooth pan and zoom and allows
for individual layers to be turned on and off. It also supports
web-based viewing of large zoomable
TilePic images.
GISlite maintains a large range of functionality while being
relatively small in comparison to its more full featured sibling, the GIS Viewer 3.0. It is also
more widely useable, requiring only Java version 1.0.2 for better
compatability with older browsers. An even smaller subset of the
applet is available for use as a
TilePic viewer.
The viewer is highly modular and can be easily extended to add new data
types and user-interface features.
