William E. Schmidt   

 

William E. Schmidt was a hybridizer and retail nurseryman in Palo Alto, California. As a member of the California Associations of Nurserymen, Peninsula Chapter, he helped create the Strybing Arboretum Society of San Francisco in 1955. He served as their first treasurer. He was also the founder of the American Pelargonium Society. His slides of world travels were donated to the California Academy of Sciences by the Strybing Arboretum Society.
