Retired PG&Electric Co.I have been interested in high desert cactus since 1988 and have gone to the Great Basin and Mojave desert every year for one month or more since that time.My special interest have been cactus such as sclerocactus polyancistrus and sclerocactus nyensis.I have found both of these plants to be very numerous at certain locations.Starting between 1998-2014 I have discovered three new locations further west for sclerocactus nyensis than had ever been known. The Montecristo Mts.,Silver Peak range and the Palamento range.and on 5/8/2014 in the Silver Peak range in Nevada I discovered two sclerocactus nyensis plants with yellow- green flowers a color never before seen. After confirming with Gerhard Haslinger at the Univ.Austria a cactus authority on Turbinicarpus and other species of cactus whom I have made numerous field trips with and Adolf Muhl I have been informed that this green color is nothing more than a mutation which occasionally occurs in all plants at one time or another.
