Timothy Herman completed a BS in Biology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2001 and an MS in Biology from Bowling Green State University in 2009 studying amphibian phylogeography. He has been a zookeeper in the Department of Herpetology at the Toledo Zoo, in Toledo, Ohio since 2001 with a focus on amphibian conservation and plethodontid salamanders. Ongoing conservation projects include the captive breeding and reintroduction of the Kihansi Spray Toad (Nectophrynoides asperginis) to Tanzania and amphibian conservation in Guatemala.
