Stephen Dowlan is a retired Natural Resource Specialist with U. S. Forest Service in northwest Pennsylvania. He worked as a Planning Team Leader for Allegheny National Forest, with primary responsibilities in NEPA analysis. Stephen received a B.S. in Natural Resources from Oregon State University, with a specialty in Arid Lands Ecology. Although native to northwestern Pennsylvania, he was an Oregon resident for 29 years, and traveled and birded extensively in many remote parts of Oregon and the arid west. He now lives in the mountains of western North Carolina.
Special interests: Birds, terrestrial mollusks, terrestrial amphibians, and native plants.
