| A native of San Diego County CA, I began studying insects at the SD Museum of Natural History in the 1950s. I received an MS in Entomology at UC Berkeley 1980, did extensive field work for the CA Insect Survey and UC Integrated Pest Management Project; several species and the genus Rudenia (Lepidoptera, Tortricidea) are named for me.
