Chris Newsom grew up an Air Force brat, living in Myrtle Beach, SC, Abilene, TX, and finally settling in New Mexico in 1995 when his father got stationed at Holloman Air Force Base in Alamogordo, NM. He received a BS in Biology from New Mexico State University in May 2006. In 2003 he became the Nature Center Intern at the Las Cruces Museum of Natural History and later moved up to Museum Naturalist from August 2005 until May 2009. He now resides in Albuquerque, NM where he works for Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute and volunteers in The Naturalist Center at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science.
Special interests: Herpetofauna photography in general (currently specialized in New Mexican Species)
