I am a not so recent UC Berkeley graduate (B.S. in Molecular Environmental Biology) who fell in love with the creepy-crawlies (insects and arachnids, mainly). I enjoy running through fields catching butterflies, going on night hunting for spiders and the occasional mushroom foray. I have had the great opportunity of spending one summer at the Angelo Coast Range Reserve as a field assistant and used my free time to document the diversity of aquatic insects in the South Fork Eel River. Currently, I work for the Power Lab, pouring over dichotomous keys and and identifying collected aquatic insect specimens. I also work for Grassroots Ecology, a non-profit organization focused on ecological habitat restoration and environmental awareness outreach in the south Bay Area. There, I lead a citizen science project monitoring water quality with benthic macroinvertebrates in local watersheds.
Special interests: California benthic macroinvertebrates
