INFORMATION PROVIDED WITH THE PHOTO
  • date of photo  Jun 27, 2005
  • location   Off Paradise Ridge Trail, above Atwell Mill Campground, off Mineral King Rd, Sequoia National Park (Tulare County, California, US)
  • family Polemoniaceae
  • notes   Found this splendid population off trail at about 8000' elevation.

I used to have trouble sorting out Leptosiphon ciliatus (which can occur at fairly high elevation in the mountains), from the rather confusingly-named Leptosiphon montanus (which is typically a larger plant that usually grows at what I think of as lower 'foothill elevations' in the Sierra Nevada).

But I think I've got it straight now :-)
