notes This plant and many nearby Uropappus lindleyi exhibited small globose swellings at the base of their stems...presumably galls of some sort. These galls are not mentioned in Ron Russo's plant galls book. However, I did find an online image of a voucher specimen, DES57816 from the Desert Botanical Garden, in which such a gall is present and mentioned on the label. Most of the galled Uropappus we saw had densely pubescent galls, as shown in the photo above...though in some plants the galls were almost glabrous, as shown in this campanion post. photo category: Plant - annual/perennial
