notes Luina serpentina is a strict endemic of talus and not endemic to serpentine. It occurs on both non-serpentine (graywacke) and serpentine (serpentinite) talus slopes. It is locally common on the rocky talus slopes of Fields Creek watershed. Graywacke of the Fields Creek Formation - most common. Serpentinite of Fields Creek - scarce. The species is clearly visible in satellite imagery as small white-pale green patches on open, steep talus slopes (rust-brown color) of Field Creek watershed, especially north and south of Fields Peak.
