INFORMATION PROVIDED WITH THE PHOTO
  • date of photo  Apr 10, 2022
  • location   Sand Island, Midway Atoll (NW Hawaiian Islands, Unorganized and unincorporated US Territory, Sand Island (Midway Atoll, NW Hawaiian Islands), United States Minor Outlying Islands)
  • family Scolopacidae
  • notes   While I have observed the rare and vulnerable Bristle-thighed Curlew in many locations on Sand Island, Midway Atoll, a large group tends to prefer a more remote location, close to the water on a short, steep sandy hill with Ironwood trees. This location is north facing and overlooks the large lagoon of the Atoll.
