Rosaceae
notes A beautiful plant, growing with its 'feet' in saturated lake-edge sod. In the 1993 edition of the Jepson Manual (and for many decades prior) this went by the name Potentilla palustris, though its dark-red petals contrast sharply with the typically yellow (or white) petal color of other CA Potentilla. It's now back under the name Linnaeus gave for this circumboreal species. photo category: Plant - annual/perennial
