notes Gestalt & location suggest Phacelia saxicola and per the Jepson eFlora it goes to that species based on: annual habit with small, entire leaves; persistent corollas; ovules >> 4 (checked in field); stamens included; and corollas not entirely yellow (as in P. monoensis and P. inyoensis) and all 5-merous (unlike mostly 4-merous corollas of P. tetramera). Growing on coarse volcanic soils & rocky substrate derived from (Bishop) tuff of the Volcanic Tablelands...eroded remnants of the Long Valley Caldera that exploded 700,000 year ago. photo category: Plant - annual/perennial
