  • plant community   Chihuahuan Desert sand scrub on semi-stabilized sand dunes at 4115' (1254m)
  • notes   yellow flowered clumping-trailing perennial on pale reddish quartz sands of colorful an outlier of low semi-stabilized dunes, north of the active dune field in the Médanos de Samalayuca Natural Protected Area. Useful, underrated plant. Distinctive fruit harvested by native peoples for edible pods when young, seeds mashed for a useful nutritious oil, dehiscent pods stripped for basket fibers and for curiosity's sake by everyone else.
