  • plant community   sarcophyllous desert thorn scrub at 212 m (695')
  • notes   on sandy, igneous, alluvial soils of gently sloping coastal plain. Entire unlobed leaves, short fibers in the fruiting capsule (boll) and deeply cleft bracts help distinguish this species. Previously known as G. klotzschianum v. davidsonii.
